Laundry / Lab is an independent collection of practical laundry guidance and browser-based tools. Our first tool answers a familiar question: can the clothes in this basket share a wash?

A clearer way to sort your laundry

Choose garment type, fabric, color, dye history, care label and soil level. The checker compares every pair and suggests separate groups when the selections conflict. It also explains the reason, so you can make an informed choice rather than follow an unexplained score.

How our guidance is made

We consult general care guidance from appliance manufacturers and cleaning organizations, then translate it into conservative sorting rules. We do not claim to have physically tested your garments or every combination of fabrics. Unknown dye history and uncertain care instructions lead to caution.

The care label comes first

Fiber blends, finishes, decorations and machine settings vary. Always follow your garment label and appliance manual. The checker is general guidance, not a guarantee against dye transfer, shrinking or damage.
